Over 16 years of graphic design, advertising and audiovisual experience. A self-employed “creative communications consultant,” Martin produces marketing collateral in print and broadcast media. A native of Indianapolis, Martin resides with his wife in Mishawaka, Indiana.

John Brune

Executive Producer, Videographer, and Editor
Over 17 years of professional experience in video. From shooting to editing, directing to producing, John has won 3 Emmy Awards. John lives with his wife and 2 children in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Martin Schliessmann and John Brune have started Escape Route Flix as a means to produce stories that others have not considered. “Why Sturgis?” is their first collaboration in documentary and full length feature production.

“Why Sturgis?” is a blueprint for the kind of storytelling that Martin and John would like to continue. Stories that may have been overlooked because you think you know the outcome. Stories from America’s heartland that refute misconceptions of “flyover country.” Stories only discovered by leaving the main highways to visit the back roads of America.

When you re-examine everyday situations different from the normal cliches, you create your own Escape Route.
